Overview

THE ONLY WAY TO DISCOVER THE LIMITS OF THE POSSIBLE IS TO GO BEYOND THEM INTO THE IMPOSSIBLE

Arthur Clarke

Horse and art is a very frequent combination in paintings and sculptures because animal has accompanied man since the origin of the first civilizations. A theme that still fuels the world of modern and contemporary art, one of the most loved and re-proposed subjects in the millenary history of 19th Century art and beyond, a real and mystical figure together, is the protagonist of the Breaking Through collection.

If moving flocks take on the appearance of a community carried forward by consumerism, a galloping white mane takes shape in front of the observer as a luminous and angelic aura, reminiscent of a wandering angelic maiden.

The works, therefore, outline a sort of iconographic evolution of the image of the horse. Chiara Del Vecchio works on layers of color with blurred lines, interested in the link between individual and collective memory. She revolutionizes the conventional representation of her forms and reveals their internal forces. Symbol of power and desire to stand out from the crowd.
The fusion of the horse, a traditional symbol of energy, dematerialized by the airbrush technique, reflects the growing awareness of a new era of change. In this way, the animal is dematerialized creating a strong contrast between material and immaterial.
