IN A MAD WORLD, ONLY THE MAD ARE SANE
Akira Kurosawa
“Art can represent madness, but above all art is madness”
But what do we mean when we talk about madness, who is the madman? The one who comes out of the patterns imposed by society or the one who follows them?
In her artistic series “Hysteria”, Chiara Del Vecchio portrays controversial characters, because madness attracts and frightens at the same time, just like art represents a form of freedom.
The “madman” denigrated by society, but studied by it, has the intrinsic charm of the non-binary.
“Hysteria” captures the darkest, most free, and most fascinating souls of characters who have become icons thanks to their madness.
